HE’S THERE!

My life is not my own

It belongs to someone far

greater than I.

I am a lamb

Weak and innocent

Needing to be led by the hand.

So many unseen dangers are in

my way

but I have a Shepherd who will

not let me stray.

Though sometimes it seems He is not

there

but when I need Him, I feel His

tender loving care.

  1. Your poem reminded me of the following Scripture in Luke 15. 4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ 7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

God searches us out to bring us back to Himself and then rejoices over us.Indeed, it is a beautiful picture of His love.

  2. As I read your message Gianne I thought of the same Scripture Debbie shared and it is True God knows those who are His and not one of us will be lost, if it were so we would not have been chosen, God knows all things… Our Redeemer Lives!

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brethren.

  4. Sometimes we may feel like He is not here. It is in these moments when we need to remember our Shepherd. It is for some reason we have forgotten to look for Him and our eyes wandered to other things.
When we turn our attention back to Him and seek Him again, this is when we will see that He already has us on His shoulder.
    Enjoy the ride.

  5. David was a shepherd, he knew the inner workings of a flock. In psalm 23 he states that the rod and the staff, “they comfort me”. One was for discipline and one was for helping. Isn’t it cool how God can comfort us in both the help he provides and the discipline he gives. Only He……
