Numbers 21:5 –
and the people speak against God, and against Moses, ‘Why hast thou brought us up out of Egypt to die in a wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water, and our soul hath been weary of this light bread.’
The children of Israel speaking against and growing weary of the Manna while in the wilderness was a prophetic sign of their attitude toward Jesus being given to them.
Numbers 32:11-12 –
Surely none of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and above, shall see the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because they have not wholly followed Me, except Caleb…and Joshua…for they have wholly followed the LORD.
Only two from the old generation entered into the Promised Land – representing the Father and the Son.
The next generation were to be a move of God by the Holy Ghost. They were to be taught and trained in the new way of living and being. They had no experience of providing for themselves.
They would learn how to co-labor together with Him.
Acts 26:12-22 –
While thus occupied, as I journeyed to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, 13 at midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me. 14 And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? An Apostle is one who has encountered the Living Jesus in such a way that no matter what opposition or persecution faced, the reality of Christ is never lost.
