WHAT’S SO GOOD ABOUT GOOD FRIDAY?
By Frank M. White
What’s so good about Good Friday?
What’s so good about it, I cry.
They hung my Savior on a cross.
They left Him there to die.
What’s so good about Good Friday?
Full of suffering, pain and tears.
What’s so pleasant about that day?
Full of sorrow, heartache, and fears.
Good is happiness, Good is Joy.
Good is not punishment and strife.
Good is prosperous, Good is Just.
Good is not taking someone’s life.
What’s so good about Good Friday?
Well, what’s good about it you see.
When Jesus shed His precious blood,
He bore all sins for you and me.
Yes, Jesus died upon that cross.
They buried Him in Joseph’s tomb.
But this is not the story’s end,
The Tree of Life would once more bloom.
Death could not keep Him in its grasp,
For on the third day, Christ did rise.
An Angel rolled the stone away.
The cold, dark grave released its prize.
What’s so good about Good Friday?
It’s the resurrection story.
Christ had to die, to rise again.
Praise God, to Him be all glory.
